Delegates at the conference focused their discussions on policies for the development of geoparks and geotourism, promoting the image of geological parks, particularly encouraging the participation of the community to advertise Dong Van Karst Plateau in Vietnam.
The symposium also touched on managing and preserving geological parks and biological reserves in Vietnam to promote tourism and improve the living standards of local residents.
The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Pham Khoi Nguyen, delegates representing geopark networks in the Asia – Pacific and Europe, and UNESCO Vietnam, as well as the Ha Giang provincial People’s Committee and over 170 scientists from 17 countries around the world.
