Former President Truong Tan Sang; Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc; current and former central and Tay Ninh provincial leaders; and representatives of central and local ministries and agencies attended the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han emphasised that Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4 is an important transport project in the southern key economic region. With a total planned length of approximately 159km, the project will help establish a transport corridor connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the southeastern region, the Mekong Delta and the Central Highlands.

For Tay Ninh, the project is particularly significant in connecting the province's development areas with the inter-regional transport network, production centres and logistics systems.

Once completed, the road will facilitate the transport of goods from industrial parks and clusters, production areas and border gate zones to seaports and airports, while opening up opportunities to attract investment and develop industry, urban areas, trade and services.

Le Van Han said that, to implement the project, the province had coordinated with central ministries and agencies, Ho Chi Minh City and relevant units to finalise the route alignment, investment scale and necessary procedures. The two component projects will be implemented under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, with a target of completion and operation in 2029.

Site clearance has achieved positive results. During an intensive 90-day campaign, the province paid compensation and provided support in 4,792 out of 5,220 cases, covering approximately 639 of the 681 hectares required, or more than 94%. These results reflect the involvement of the entire political system and public support for the implementation of this key infrastructure project.

In the coming period, Tay Ninh will continue focusing on clearing the remaining land, carrying out resettlement, relocating technical infrastructure and ensuring an adequate supply of construction materials.

Le Van Han affirmed that provincial leaders would regularly inspect and monitor progress, promptly address obstacles and link implementation results to the responsibilities of individual agencies and units. The province also hopes to continue receiving public support and cooperation from ministries, agencies, localities and the business community to ensure the project is completed on schedule.

The launch of the two component projects marks an important step forward in the implementation of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 4. Once operational, the road is expected not only to improve transport connectivity but also to capitalise on Tay Ninh's advantages, promote regional linkages, attract investment and lay the foundation for sustainable socio-economic development.
