This event marks the first stop in a series of tourism promotion programmes across three major Chinese cities of Beijing, Chongqing, and Chengdu, held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Viet Nam–China diplomatic relations and the Viet Nam–China People-to-People Exchange Year 2025.
Delivering opening remarks, VNAT Chairman Nguyen Trung Khanh emphasised that tourism and cultural cooperation between Viet Nam and China is a long-standing relationship, an objective need, and one of the key pillars in the comprehensive bilateral friendship nurtured by the two parties and states.

He affirmed that tourism cooperation between the two countries has achieved significant and substantive results. However, the potential and room for growth in the Viet Nam–China tourism market remain vast. Khanh expressed Viet Nam’s desire to work closely with Chinese partners to strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation, promote sustainable tourism, and harness each country’s rich trove of natural, cultural, and human resources.
According to the VNAT, nearly 3.74 million Chinese visitors came to Viet Nam in 2024. In the first nine months of 2025, Viet Nam welcomed almost 3.9 million Chinese tourists, a year-on-year increase of 43%.
Speaking at the event, Minister of the Vietnamese Embassy Ninh Thanh Cong highlighted that, under the close guidance of senior leaders from both parties and states, Viet Nam–China cultural and tourism cooperation has developed positively and substantively, contributing to deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a Viet Nam–China Community with a Shared Future with the meaningful connotation of “Six More.” Tourism, he noted, has played an important role as a bridge connecting trade and investment, fostering mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Minister of the Vietnamese Embassy Ninh Thanh Cong emphasised that the programme was especially meaningful as it coincided with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the People-to-People Exchange Year. It provided a great opportunity to showcase Viet Nam as an attractive and safe destination, presenting the beauty of the Vietnamese land and people to Chinese audiences. He expressed confidence that, through active cooperation between competent agencies and businesses of both sides, tourism cooperation would continue to recover and grow, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the Vietnamese and Chinese peoples.
Zheng Fang, Deputy Director of the Beijing Cultural and Tourism Bureau, said that in recent years, tourism and cultural exchanges have become an important bridge enhancing the mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations. She noted that Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage and beautiful natural landscapes are attracting increasing numbers of Chinese visitors, while China remains one of Vietnam’s largest tourist source markets. Beijing, which is home to many world cultural heritage sites, is eager to deepen tourism cooperation with Vietnamese localities to promote two-way exchanges and mutual understanding.

Zhu Yihai, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, stated that Viet Nam’s tourism industry has grown strongly in recent years, making the country a highly favoured destination among Tianjin residents and Chinese tourists in general. The Viet Nam Tourism Promotion Programme in Beijing, he said, would further boost bilateral tourism exchanges and cooperation, especially between Tianjin and Vietnamese localities.

During the event, representatives from the VNAT and Vietnamese travel companies introduced popular destinations, flight networks, and tourism products tailored for the Chinese market. Vietnamese and Chinese businesses also had opportunities to exchange information, promote tourism, expand markets, and explore potential cooperation.

This meaningful event not only strengthens the traditional friendship and cultural-tourism cooperation between Viet Nam and China but also opens opportunities to enhance tourist exchanges, connect businesses, and promote Viet Nam’s image as a friendly and hospitable destination to Chinese partners and visitors.
