The Hanoi-based hospital held a ceremony on June 26 to receive the certification from the JCI-Accredited Organisation, recognising Vinmec’s healthcare facilities and service quality have met the most stringent standards for healthcare in the world.
JCI standard is among the highest standards in the field of medical quality evaluation with 285 articles and 1,166 measurable elements. JCI is a US-based organisation for healthcare accreditation, operating in 90 countries to supply and evaluate quality standards of international hospitals with patient-centric targets, focusing on patients’ safety.
The certificate is expected to help Vinmec reach its development objective to become a leading international and regional medical care centre. Currently, three additional hospitals in Vietnam have registered with JCI for evaluating healthcare quality for the accreditation. The standards will be reassessed by JCI every three years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Xuyen said that recognition is an important assertion of quality for world-class services of Vinmec. She praised the hospital for its high infrastructure and service quality, adding that in 2014 Vinmec achieved a high score of 4.81 out of 5 points, meeting the Ministry of Health’s hospital quality management standards with 83 quality criteria.
Dr. Prabhu Vinayagam, Managing Director for the JCI Asia Pacific, said that he was impressed by the relentless efforts of Vinmec to achieve the accreditation, stressing that the main challenge is to constantly improve healthcare quality.
