According to the hospital, the patient who received the organs is a 41-year-old man who had been diagnosed with end-stage heart failure and later acute liver failure two years ago.

The transplanted organs were taken from a brain-dead donor from Nghe An Province. The 36-year-old man who suffered brain death following a traffic accident donated multiple organs with family consensus.

On October 1, the transplantation was performed successfully after 8 hours by doctors from different departments.

On October 5, the patient was extubated and his heart and liver gradually recovered fully.
