Search data from Booking.com reveals that beach trips continue to top the list of summer travel choices among Vietnamese families.

According to search data from Booking.com, between June 1 and July 31, beach trips (61%) and nature exploration (59%) remain the leading travel choices for Vietnamese families, followed by trips to major cities (45%).

Domestically, destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Da Lat (Lam Dong), Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), and Vung Tau (Ba Ria–Vung Tau) are among the most searched. These locations not only feature stunning landscapes and pleasant climates, but they also provide ideal spaces for relaxation, enabling families to enjoy meaningful moments together and meeting diverse holiday needs of all age groups.

The top 10 domestic destinations most searched by Vietnamese families from June 1 to July 31 are: Da Nang, Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Ho Chi Minh City, Da Lat (Lam Dong), Ha Noi, Vung Tau (Ba Ria–Vung Tau), Hoi An (Quang Nam), Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Ha Long (Quang Ninh), and Hue (Thua Thien–Hue).

For international travel, Singapore, Tokyo (Japan), and Bangkok (Thailand) are the three most popular destinations this summer. This is also the consecutive second year that these cities have appeared on the list.

The top 10 international destinations most searched by Vietnamese families from June 1 to July 31 are: Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), Singapore, Seoul (Republic of Korea), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Paris (France), Hong Kong (China), Osaka (Japan), Sydney (Australia), and Chiang Mai (Thailand).

According to Travel Trends Forecast 2025 of Booking.com, the primary goal of families when travelling is to enjoy quality time together. Notably, 88% of parents stated that they view travel as an opportunity for their children to be exposed to diverse cultures and gain rich experiences. Meanwhile, 59% expressed a desire to explore new cuisines and local specialities.

This shift in mindset is also clearly reflected in how they plan their trips, with 58% of Vietnamese parents prioritising travel annually, regardless of circumstances.

Significantly, 41% stated they intend to increase their travel budget in 2025 compared to the previous year, aiming to create more meaningful experiences and have more moments for bonding with their loved ones.

Some 65% of Vietnamese travellers consider travel a wonderful opportunity to spend time together. Family trips are no longer merely about sightseeing or relaxing, they have become precious moments to connect and share among generations.
