Vietnam’s exports to Australia soar 42% in eight months

The revenue from Vietnamese exports to Australia in the first eight months of 2022 has been estimated at 4.9 billion USD, up 42% over the same the period last year, according to the Vietnamese trade mission in Australia.

Among Vietnam’s main exports, seafood surged 49% to 247.6 million USD while timber and timber products rose 23.99% to 135.4 million USD.

Confectionery went up 50% to 50 million USD while steel shot up 232.92% to 142 million USD.

On the other side, Vietnam’s imports from Australia also rose 34.75%, mainly sourcing inputs for production such as coal, iron ore, metals and wheat.

According to Nguyen Phu Hoa, the head of the Vietnamese trade mission in Australia, such an impressive export growth rate was thanks to the diversity of Vietnamese goods and the efforts of Vietnamese exporters to assert the quality of Vietnamese goods.
