At the opening ceremony, Vu Kim Hanh, Chairwoman of the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Business Association, said that the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Programme had not only expanded in number and scale over the past 30 years but also built prestige for and trust in the depth and consistency of product quality.

According to Vu Kim Hanh, when looking at the global competitive landscape and Viet Nam's highly open economy, which places great emphasis on exports, these years also mark the final stage of the golden population structure, and that the country may have only another 10 to 15 years before entering a period of population ageing.

Meanwhile, after half a century of establishment and development, businesses participating in the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Programme are also actively working to transfer corporate management responsibilities. The emergence of a new generation of managers amid the world's rapidly changing geopolitical and geoeconomic landscape presents another major challenge for businesses today.

The burden of innovation has become even heavier for the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods business community in the programme's 30th year.

“Since the programme's early days 30 years ago, the tradition of maintaining close ties with experts, staying closely connected with one another, being eager to learn from practical experience and from each other, rigorously applying shared experience, and continuously improving are the lessons behind the success of high-quality Vietnamese goods businesses,” Vu Kim Hanh stressed.

Highly appreciating the achievements made over the past 30 years, Nguyen Loc Ha, Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, affirmed that the city hoped the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods business community would continue to maintain consumer trust through genuine quality and honesty, while boldly investing in product research and development and technological innovation. Digital and green transformation must deliver tangible results: better production, more efficient use of resources, higher productivity, and better customer service.

The city expects the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Business Association, in its next phase, to serve not only as a platform honouring businesses that have performed well but also as a hub for connection, leadership, and the dissemination of good practices.

It should connect businesses with experts, research institutes, universities, distribution networks, and markets; guide businesses in improving quality and competitiveness; and share experience and successful models to give young businesses better opportunities for growth.

Nguyen Loc Ha also said that Ho Chi Minh City hoped to work with the business community to build a modern consumer ecosystem in which high-quality Vietnamese goods would occupy a worthy position in distribution networks, shopping venues, tourism, and the city's trade promotion activities. This would not only better serve domestic consumers but also help create a distinctive Ho Chi Minh City experience for international visitors.

Also on the opening evening, the Australian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City presented letters of appreciation and recognition to nine outstanding businesses participating in the High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Programme.

These businesses have demonstrated a pioneering role, leadership capacity, and a strong commitment to promoting workplace equality and establishing a foundation for sustainable governance in Viet Nam through their participation in the GEARS@VIETNAM programme.
