Winners of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Souvenir Gift Design Contest honoured

A ceremony was held by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, on July 13 to announce and present awards to winners of the City Tourism Souvenir Gift Design Contest.

The event was held by the City Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Industrial Product Design and Prototyping Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts and Woodworking Association (HAWA).

Launched from May 17, 2022, to April 30, 2023, the contest’s organisers received more than 120 entries in different genres, including lacquer, crafts, and traditional and environmentally friendly materials.

The contest aimed to seek the design of souvenir gift products showing the characteristics, uniqueness, identity and distinctive features of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as create souvenir and tourism products with new designs and high applicability for businesses.

The winning works of the contest will contribute to attracting more visitors, promoting destinations and increasing the spending of visitors to Ho Chi Minh City.

As a result, the organising board presented awards to 25 products. Specifically, in A Category (for Conference Gifts), the first prize went to the product "Golden architectural 3D card" by Tayta Smart Fine Arts Co., Ltd. One second-place, one third-place and five consolation prizes were also awarded to other outstanding products in this category.

Meanwhile, in the B Category (Tourism Souvenirs), the first-place prize was presented to the product of “bamboo coffee maker) by Nguyen Huynh Nam. One second-place, one third-place and 14 consolation prizes also went to others.

High-prize products will be selected as gifts for the City’s leaders to give to domestic and foreign delegations who visit and work in the city, as well as for trade promotion and tourism activities abroad.

In addition, the City Department of Tourism will introduce the winning products to tourist accommodation establishments, travel agencies and tourist sites for selling.
