Yoshine Festival seeks to discover and honour Vietnamese musical talents

The Viet Nam Musicians’ Association, in collaboration with the Yoshine Melody Institute of Educational Science, held a press conference in Ha Noi on January 10 to launch the National Yoshine Music Festival 2026.

Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General, composer Duc Trinh, President of the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association, stated that the National Yoshine Music Festival 2026 aims to discover, nurture, and honour young Vietnamese musical talents; whilst also creating a bridge between training, performance, research, and communication in the field of music.

This is also a practical activity contributing to the development of musical life, enhancing the quality of artistic education, and disseminating classical music values to the community, he added.

The festival is open to Vietnamese people both at home and abroad; children of foreigners who are working, living, and studying in Viet Nam, without distinction of religion, ethnicity, or educational level.

The event will take place from now until August 2026, with rounds including preliminary, regional finals – national finals, in two categories: piano and vocal music.

In the preliminary round, contestants submit their online entries from February 1 to May 20, 2026. Contestants achieving bronze medals or higher in the regional finals of the North, Central, and South will advance to the national finals and gala, scheduled for August 2026.

The Piano category is divided into two sub-categories: professional and amateur pianists, for different age groups from 6 to 25 years old.

The Vocal category is also divided into professional and amateur vocalists, with different competition groups from 6 to 45 years old.
