This marks the second consecutive year in which the northern mountainous province of Bac Kan will organise tourism activities to highlight its typical agricultural products.

The ash gourd is a native plant of Ba Be District. All parts of the plant, including stems, leaves, flowers, and fruits, are fragrant and can be included in a tasty dish.

The ‘Bac Kan Tourism-Culture Week’ will take place at the Ba Be National Park in Khang Ninh Commune as well as some other locations in Ba Be District.

Visitors will have the opportunity to experience ethnic cuisine and OCOP products of Bac Kan as well as cultural space of the Tay, Nung, Mong, and Dao ethnic groups in the province through many art performances.

In addition to visiting Ba Be Lake, tourists can also visit other tourist attractions such as waterfalls, bamboo forests, Dao villages, and ash gourd fields in Yen Duong Commune and Dia Linh Commune in Ba Be District.

There will also be a contest for beauties showcasing traditional costumes of ethnic minorities in Bac Kan Province, a painting contest on the nature, culture, and environment of Ba Be, and a conference promoting the consumption of ash gourds, among other events.
