Binh Da Festival 2026, a national intangible cultural heritage, held in honour of Lac Long Quan, the legendary ancestor of the country, will take place on April 22, or the sixth day of the third lunar month, with a series of distinctive traditional cultural activities.

Preparations have so far been carried out in a coordinated manner, ensuring that the festival will be organised in a solemn, safe, and culturally rich way.

On April 16, 2026, the festival organising committee said that, after being held many times, the festival has been preserved with its full traditional rites intact and is attracting growing numbers of local residents and visitors from across the country.

This year’s festival is being held under the theme “The Spirit of Lac Hong, Convergence and Diffusion”, featuring key activities such as processions, ritual offerings and incense ceremonies, the ceremonial release of sacred cakes, performances of traditional firecrackers, a flag-raising ceremony combined with hot-air balloons, and a variety of cultural and sporting events as well as folk games.

Following a review, subcommittees have now been set up and given clear responsibilities to keep preparations on track. Functional forces have also been deployed to strengthen security, direct traffic, and prevent fire risks, while detailed traffic and parking plans have been drawn up to minimise congestion during peak hours.

At the same time, environmental sanitation and landscape improvement have been maintained on a regular basis, while food safety controls at service establishments around the festival area have been tightened through inter-agency inspection rounds.

According to the plan, the ceremonial part of the festival will be conducted solemnly and in line with traditional rites, while the festive part will be diverse and vibrant, fostering a joyful atmosphere and strengthening community bonds. In doing so, the event is also expected to help promote cultural heritage and support local tourism and socio-economic development.
