Specifically, the provinces of Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, and Dak Nong called for investment in nearly 560 projects in such fields as transport infrastructure, high-tech agriculture, manufacturing, ecotourism, commerce, logistics, and healthcare.
Lam Dong has the most projects, with 220, followed by Kon Tum with 160 projects.
At the conference, representatives of Central Highlands provinces introduced their potential and advantages to attending enterprises. They also pledged to create the most favourable conditions and incentives for investors coming to the region.
For his part, Ho Chi Minh City Vice Chairman Vo Van Hoan highlighted the Central Highlands’ rich forest resources, with a forest cover of 51.34%.
The region is also known for having soil suitable for industrial-use plants and large reserves of minerals such as peat and brown coal.
The Central Highlands also holds great potential for tourism, with a wide network of lakes and waterfalls, rich fauna and flora, and a temperate climate.
At the conference, memorandums of understanding were signed between investors and provinces in the region, thus opening investment opportunities in manufacturing, education, high-tech agriculture, forestry and so on.
