The festival aims to honour, preserve and promote the distinctive cultural traditions and values of the Cham people as part of Viet Nam’s rich and diverse national culture.

It also seeks to foster national solidarity while raising the profile of localities where Cham communities reside and promoting their tourism and socio-economic development potential.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, participating delegations of artisans, performers and traditional sports competitors will come from seven provinces and cities: Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, An Giang, Dak Lak, and Ho Chi Minh City.

The opening ceremony will take place at 8 pm on June 26 and will be broadcast live on national television.

As part of the festival, participating delegations will recreate traditional Cham festivals and cultural rituals, stage artistic performances, showcase traditional Cham costumes, and introduce distinctive forms of folk art.

Residents and visitors will be able to explore cultural exhibition spaces, experience traditional Cham crafts such as brocade weaving and pottery making, and learn about distinctive local products from each participating locality.

The event will also feature a seminar on preserving Cham cultural heritage in the context of community-based tourism and sustainable development.

In addition to cultural and artistic activities, the festival will include a range of traditional sports competitions and folk games deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of the Cham people.
