At the construction site of the Hong Ha Bridge under Component Project 3 of the Ring Road 4 – Capital Region project, a representative of the contractor Dat Phuong Joint Stock Company said that favourable weather conditions have enabled engineers and workers to accelerate construction. Nearly four months since groundbreaking, 15 construction teams are working in three shifts and four rotations, with the determination to complete the project in 2027.
Component Project 2 — the construction of the parallel road of Ring Road 4 – Capital Region — is also entering the final phase. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Commander of Package No. 9 (Viet Nam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation – Vinaconex), said that during the New Year holiday, the team of engineers and workers all stayed on site to continue working. To date, the package undertaken by Vinaconex has reached over 80% of its workload, with a commitment to complete it in June 2026 in line with the directives of the Ha Noi authorities.
At Package No. 8, a representative of Truong Son Corporation said that more than 90% of the construction volume of the approximately 13 km section has been completed, and it is expected to be basically finished before the Lunar New Year, ahead of schedule. For the remaining packages, contractors are deploying multiple construction teams to ensure overall project progress. A representative of the Ha Noi Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board said that contractors have completed about 35 km of the 53-km parallel road of Ring Road 4 passing through Ha Noi, and they are striving to basically complete the entire parallel road in the second quarter of 2026.
At the Ring Road 1 project, the Hoang Cau–Voi Phuc section, contractors have mobilised the maximum number of workers and equipment, deploying multiple construction fronts along the entire route. According to the Ha Noi Civil Works Construction Investment Project Management Board, immediately after site handover (on December 11, 2025), contractors simultaneously relocated underground and aboveground technical infrastructure, removed trees, and carried out road construction, determined to achieve technical traffic opening before January 15, 2026 in accordance with the directive of the Secretary of the Ha Noi Party Committee, and to complete the project in 2026.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the construction at the eastern section of the Ring Road 3 project is also moving at an extremely urgent pace. The Ring Road 3 project was launched by Ho Chi Minh City in June 2023. The section passing through the city is 47.3 km long, accounting for the largest share of the project’s scale, with a total investment of 22.412 trillion VND. To date, 14.7 km of elevated road in the eastern part of the city, running from Thu Duc City (former) to the area adjoining the Nhon Trach Bridge approach (Dong Nai Province), has gradually taken shape.
Among these, five construction packages in the eastern section of the project have recorded the fastest progress, reaching nearly 90%. Joining a group of workers present at the site early in the morning of January 2 to install noise-reducing glass panels on the parapets of the elevated road, Minh Thong, a worker from Dinh An contractor, said cheerfully: “Although we are working on a holiday, I still feel happy. For a long time, Ho Chi Minh City has not had any expressway or ring road with protective, noise-reducing glass panels installed along the bridge parapets like this, which gives the project a better appearance and helps reduce noise when passing through residential areas.”
Alongside workers working throughout the New Year holiday, the supervision unit has also closely monitored each construction section. Bui Van Quan, Chief Supervisor from the Transport Engineering Design Incorporated, supervising Package XL1-2 of the eastern section of the Ring Road 3 project, said that the 14.7 km elevated road was technically opened to traffic on December 19, 2025, and the contractor is currently paving asphalt along the entire route. In addition, output on the parallel roads on both sides has reached about 55% of the contractual value. In the coming period, contractors will continue to accelerate road construction during the dry season to ensure the set schedule.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Transport Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project investor, units are completing works on sections that have been technically opened to traffic and continuing construction of the elevated section from Dong Tron Bridge to the Tan Van interchange, aiming to complete the elevated road by April 30, 2026. At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City aims to technically open 32.6 km of the main route of Ring Road 3 in the north-western direction of the city, across the districts of Cu Chi, Hoc Mon, and Binh Chanh (former), and to fully open the entire Ring Road 3 project to traffic by June 30, 2026.
At the Long Thanh International Airport construction project, in recent days, about 15,000 officials, experts, engineers and workers, along with 3,000 machines and pieces of equipment, have been working in three shifts and four rotations. At Runway No. 2 (Package 4.12), the contractor consortium has mobilised around 400 engineers and workers with more than 150 vehicles and machines to deploy construction fronts. The package commenced on May 30, 2025, and is expected to be completed in June 2026.
According to Dao Anh Dung, Director of the Airport Executive Board (Corps 12), taking advantage of the dry season which is favourable for construction, contractors have mobilised manpower and equipment to work day and night. At the same time, the consortium comprising ACC, Truong Son, Vinaconex, Vinadic, ACJC647, Khanh Thien, and VTG continues to accelerate progress, ensuring the synchronous completion of the package and the passenger terminal building, and putting it into operation in June 2026 as scheduled. According to assessments, Runway No. 2, together with internal airport traffic works and the aircraft fuel supply system, is running three months ahead of the original contract schedule.
For the package covering the construction and installation of equipment for the passenger terminal building (Package 5.10) — the most important component of the project — the contractor consortium has mobilised more than 5,300 personnel and over 1,000 machines and pieces of equipment for construction and installation works. Inside the terminal, the baggage handling system has basically completed the installation of the steel floor for the BHS baggage handling system, reaching 99%. The installation of straight ICS conveyors and rough conveyors has also been completed. Two hundred devices of the checked and carry-on baggage screening systems have been delivered to the site. Brackets and equipment at the gates are being urgently installed, while escalators, moving walkways and lifts are being rapidly fitted.
A representative of the Long Thanh Airport Project Management Board said that under the contract schedule, Package 5.10 (commenced in August 2023) is to be completed on November 30, 2026. During implementation, the package schedule was adjusted, and the construction works were basically completed by the end of 2025. At present, the contractor consortium is carrying out interconnection, acceptance of equipment and synchronised system commissioning over a period of about six months. Along with the two packages mentioned above, all other packages of the Long Thanh Airport project are entering the final acceleration phase. According to the plan, Phase 1 of the Long Thanh Airport project will complete construction and be put into commercial operation in the first half of 2026.
