The programme was jointly organised by the National Innovation Centre (NIC) and the Viet Nam Innovation and Cybersecurity Experts Network (ViSecurity) in Ha Noi from March 25 to 27. It was designed for specialised personnel from government agencies, organisations, local authorities and businesses.

The initiative forms part of key tasks for 2026 aimed at implementing the Government’s Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP, which updates the national action programme on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation.

According to Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of NIC, as science, technology and digital transformation increasingly drive socio-economic growth, ensuring cybersecurity and information safety has become a fundamental requirement. He noted that the programme seeks to equip participants with risk management thinking and practical implementation skills, thereby enhancing internal capabilities in innovation and technology.

Ngo Tuan Anh, Chairman of ViSecurity, said the course was specifically tailored for digital transformation teams, focusing on strengthening their ability to identify, prevent and respond to modern cyber threats.

Data from the National Cybersecurity Association indicated that Viet Nam faced approximately 552,000 cyberattacks in 2025. While the number of incidents declined, the level of damage inflicted on businesses rose by 46.15% compared with 2024, suggesting a shift towards more targeted and sophisticated attacks.

Participants were introduced to both foundational and advanced cybersecurity knowledge, including endpoint protection, network defence architecture, access control, cloud security, cryptography, threat intelligence and incident response. A strong emphasis was placed on practical training, enabling trainees to engage directly in attack-and-defence scenarios within the cybersecurity range.
