Under the new system, passengers of Starlux can easily use a touch screen to print tags, attach tags to their baggage and place the baggage on the belt.
The baggage will then be moved to the security area and transferred to the aircraft.
At the self-service bag drop kiosks, assistants are available to help passengers with the process.
Elvis Chao, representative of Starlux Airlines in Da Nang, said Da Nang is the first airport in Vietnam that the carrier has integrated self-service bag drop into its check-in procedures.
It is estimated that passengers can save 15-20 minutes compared with queuing at check-in counters for staff service.
Earlier, self-check-in kiosks, automatic immigration gates and self-boarding gates had been put in place at the international terminal of Da Nang Airport, to help passengers cut their time for airport procedures.
