This was announced by Deputy General Director of the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation JSC (AHT) Do Trong Hau on December 12.

Da Nang airport’s terminal 2 has been awarded a Gold ranking — the highest among the Welcome Chinese certificate's three grades of Silk, Jade, and Gold, as issued by the Beijing-based research organisation China Tourism Academy under the China National Tourism Administration.

To achieve the title, Da Nang Airport has adopted various measures, including displaying the Chinese language on signage, flight information screens, restaurant menus, maps, and its own website. Other efforts include providing complimentary hot water, having staff who are proficient in the Chinese language, offering shops that accept payments through UnionPay and WeChat Pay, and having tax refund counters.

Italy has four airports with “Welcome Chinese” certification, while France, Russia, Spain, and Saudi Arabia each have one certified airport.

Deputy General Director Hau said the certification will contribute to advertising the image of Da Nang Airport and Da Nang City in general as convenient and friendly destination among Chinese tourists.

Previously in March, Da Nang Airport earned the four-star standard by the SkyTrax — a consult on airline and airport star rating — making it the only airport in Vietnam in the list of top 23 four-star airports in Asia.
