Da Nang innovates voter meetings through digital platforms

Alongside direct voter meetings, Hoa Khanh ward ,Da Nang city, has flexibly and creatively applied digital platforms to expand the space for interaction, bringing the voices of candidates to every household.

Right after dinner (March 4), at 7 pm, voter Huynh Thi Thu Anh (Phu Thuong residential area) opened her laptop and accessed the Zoom link sent earlier in the residential group’s Zalo chat to follow the meeting between voters and candidates for the Ward People’s Council, first term.

On the small screen appeared clear images from the hall of the Ward Military Command, where candidates for the Ward People’s Council were taking turns presenting their action programs.

Thu Anh shared: “This is a very convenient new way for voters who cannot attend the centralized meeting. Organized in the evening, when family tasks are done, we have time to follow and listen; so even though I cannot arrange time to attend in person, I still do not miss important information.”

The voter meeting at four electoral units, organized in a format combining direct and online participation, was held by the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Khanh ward on the evening of March 4.

In addition to voters attending directly at four locations, many online connection points in residential areas were also organized. At the same time, thousands of voters in the ward followed the voter meeting through the Zoom platform at home, coffee shops, grocery stalls…

It is known that voter meetings at the 10 electoral units in Hoa Khanh ward are all organized in a format combining direct and online participation.

Diversifying online forms helps disseminate election information more widely and transparently, while creating conditions for people to participate conveniently and proactively.

According to the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Khanh ward, organizing meetings in a format combining direct and online participation aims to create the most favorable conditions for voters to access information about candidates.

In the context of an area where many workers and laborers work in shifts, online platforms help ensure that they are not left behind in exercising their electoral rights and obligations.

Up to now, the Election Committee of Hoa Khanh ward has officially issued a resolution announcing the list of candidates for the Ward People’s Council, 13th tenure, term 2026–2031.

Accordingly, the list has been publicly posted at 10 electoral units with 44 polling stations, ensuring transparency and democracy. The entire ward currently has 71,478 voters ready to participate in voting.

The Election Committee for the People’s Council of Hoa Khanh ward for the 2026–2031 term has also applied technology in organizational work, such as posting QR codes for residents to look up voter lists and submit online feedback; producing videos guiding decoration work at posting locations and polling stations, infographics publicizing election timelines, posting locations and polling stations; and strengthening communication on election activities in cyberspace.
