The Da Nang People's Committee Office said that a delegation led by the Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Phuoc Son had just paid a working visit to India from September 28-30, to promote cooperation activities in investment, tourism and trade.
Within the framework of the visit, the city has coordinated with the Consulate General of Vietnam in Mumbai and Indian partners, to organise conferences and seminars connecting Indian businesses with the functional industries of the city.
Trade and tourism investment promotion conferences and seminars, with the Indian Industries Association held in Mumbai, have attracted the participation of more than 100 businesses and investors across the fields.
Speaking about the prospect of cooperation between Da Nang city and Indian partners in the field of tourism, Consul General of Vietnam in Mumbai Hoang Tung emphasised the closeness between Vietnam and India and the characteristics and cultural similarities between the two sides, that is the attraction of Vietnam in general and Da Nang city in particular for Indian tourists.
According to Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Tran Phuoc Son, in recent years, the city has increased working with airlines to promote the opening of direct flights to Da Nang, especially after successfully organising the Asia route development forum in June 2022 in Da Nang.
As planned, Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company will launch the first direct flight from Da Nang to Mumbai, with a frequency of three flights per week starting October 17.
Currently, Da Nang city is developing policies to support investors and businesses operating in information technology parks within the city, intending to develop specific mechanisms and policies, to encourage enterprises to invest and operate in concentrated information technology parks and software technology parks throughout the city.
Da Nang has a system of universities providing quality information technology human resource training services for the region.
The city's leaders want Indian companies to take the time to explore investment cooperation opportunities in Da Nang, in addition to cooperation in human resource training with the University of Danang.
During the work programme, the delegation exchanged and worked with Indian event companies, focusing on discussing the connection of events, and bringing Indian weddings to Da Nang in the coming time.
