The southern province of Dong Nai held a groundbreaking ceremony on September 27 for the construction of an inter-port road with a total investment of 2.66 trillion VND (100 million USD), scheduled for completion in 36 months.

Phase 1 of the project spans 8.8 km, including a 6.9 km section with eight lanes and a 1.9 km section with four lanes, with five reinforced concrete bridges along the route.

The road is designed to connect seaports as part of the provincial master plan. It will promote transport infrastructure development, support new residential areas, attract investment in industrial parks, and contribute to the sustainable development of Nhon Trach.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dong Nai Chairman Vo Tan Duc emphasised that the first phase of the inter-port road is a key provincial project, playing a strategic role in enabling Nhon Trach to accelerate development and become a growth engine for both Dong Nai and the Southern Key Economic Region.

The inter-port road is also expected to leverage Long Thanh Airport once its first phase becomes operational, fostering the development of a seaport-logistics-industrial park-riverside urban chain.

To ensure the project stays on schedule while maintaining quality and safety, Duc urged contractors to mobilise maximum manpower and equipment, while asking relevant departments and localities to coordinate closely on site clearance and resettlement for relocated residents.

On the same day, Dong Nai Province also held groundbreaking ceremonies for seven social housing projects.
