This event marked the launch of a series of activities promoting domestic production and expanding Viet Nam–Japan supply chain cooperation, in the context of ongoing localisation and digital transformation trends reshaping the global manufacturing landscape.
The 17th Viet Nam Manufacturing Expo (VME) and the 11th Viet Nam–Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition (SIE) are scheduled to take place from August 6 to 8, 2025, at the I.C.E Ha Noi International Exhibition Centre (Viet Nam-Soviet Friendship Labour Cultural Palace).
The event is expected to bring together over 200 businesses from more than 10 countries. Notably, 20 Japanese buyers will directly engage with 20 Vietnamese enterprises specialising in the production of components, spare parts, and supporting industry products.
Speaking at the press conference, Vu Ba Phu, Director General of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency, affirmed: “Supporting industries are the foundation for sustainable development in the manufacturing sector. However, Vietnamese enterprises currently meet only about 10% of domestic demand for components. Therefore, hosting international-scale exhibitions, alongside supporting businesses in digital transformation and green industry, is essential to enhancing supply capacity and deeper integration into global value chains.”
This year’s exhibition will spotlight key technological themes, including digital transformation, automation, zero-emission manufacturing, digital supply chains, smart factories, and Industry 4.0. In particular, two core segments of the supporting industry, Fastener & Fixing and Material Processing Technology (ViMat), will be featured through in-depth showcases.
Amidst a period of deep integration and dynamic transformation, the press conference not only marked the official launch of the two largest manufacturing exhibitions of 2025 but also demonstrated the commitment of trade promotion agencies and businesses from both countries to building a resilient, modern, and globally competitive domestic industrial base.
