The exhibition is jointly organised by the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace and the Department of International Cooperation to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the 52nd anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan.
The ceremony was attended by Ngo Trinh Ha, Consul General of Viet Nam in Osaka; Tran Nhat Hoang, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Cooperation and Deputy General Commissioner of Viet Nam at EXPO 2025; and Le Thi Phuong, Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace.
Representing the Japanese side were Oono Masafumi, Director of Exchange Promotion of the Economic Strategy Bureau of the Osaka City Government; Koga Koichi, Secretary General of the Japan-Viet Nam Friendship Association in the Kansai region; as well as representatives from other national pavilions at EXPO 2025, members of the Vietnamese community in Osaka, and international friends.
In his remarks at the opening, Tran Nhat Hoang noted that this is the first exhibition on President Ho Chi Minh, which has been held at a World Expo. “The whole life of President Ho Chi Minh is a vivid testament to his dedication to work and his aspiration to serve the nation and humanity for a better world, values that resonate deeply with the theme and spirit of EXPO 2025,” he emphasised.
Le Thi Phuong, Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, said the exhibition offers visitors to EXPO 2025 access to rare documents and images that vividly and authentically reflect the life, career, thought, and sentiments of President Ho Chi Minh, a great but extremely close and simple leader.
Through this exhibition, Japanese and international people will gain a deeper understanding of President Ho Chi Minh’s personality, thoughts and feelings with the people in the world in general and Japan in particular.
Le Thi Phuong also extended an invitation to delegates to visit the residence and workplace of President Ho Chi Minh in Ha Noi in the near future, to learn more about his simple but great life, as well as the beauty, peace, and hospitality of Viet Nam.
The exhibition “President Ho Chi Minh – Symbol of Peace and Friendship” is taking place from May 23 to 25 at the Viet Nam Pavilion at EXPO 2025.
Visitors will have the opportunity to watch valuable films about diplomacy under the Ho Chi Minh era, through documents and images, learn about the 30-year journey of finding a way to save the country of Nguyen Tat Thanh - Nguyen Ai Quoc; President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of the Vietnamese people, the builder of international solidarity; Uncle Ho's legacies at the Presidential Palace - a "destination" in diplomatic relations, where converge the sentiments of the people and international friends.
After EXPO 2025, the exhibition about President Ho Chi Minh will continue to take place in Fukuoka City, Japan, on May 28-29.
