The event gathered many leading scientists, experts, lecturers, and doctors from the France – Viet Nam Health Union, the French Academy of Medicine, universities of medicine and pharmacy, research institutes, and major hospitals nationwide.
The conference included a plenary session, 11 scientific sessions, and a satellite workshop.
Discussions during the plenary session focused on medical cooperation between Viet Nam and France; developments in modern science and technology related to healthcare, such as artificial intelligence and health; and automation technology in medicine.
The scientific sessions featured diverse research across various fields including internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, oncology, anaesthesiology and intensive care, medical imaging, dermatology, mental health, and public health.
Addressing the conference, Professor Dr Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health and Chairman of the National Medical Council, hailed the positive development of France – Viet Nam medical cooperation over more than a century, since the establishment of Indochina Medical School in 1902, which marked the beginning of modern medicine in Viet Nam.
He expressed his belief that the conference will open opportunities to foster cooperation between universities, hospitals, research institutes, and generations of medical professionals from both countries.
