Front leader extends congratulations on Buddha’s birthday

On May 25, President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Do Van Chien visited and offered congratulations to Buddhist dignitaries at Quan Su Temple to mark the occasion of Buddha’s birthday.

At the meeting with Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Chien extended his best wishes to Buddhist leaders, monks, nuns, and followers nationwide.

He also expressed his sincere thanks to the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam for actively taking part in a programme launched by the VFF to build houses for poor people in Dien Bien Province.

Going into the future, the VFF leader hopes that the Sangha will continue working with the Party and State in promoting economic development and ensuring social security.

For his part, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu thanked the Party, State and VFF for their consideration and support. He stated that the Buddhist Sangha has always been actively involved in the patriotic movements launched by the VFF.

Underlining the humane value of such activities, the Buddhist leader affirmed that the Sangha would continue encouraging their followers to join hands in building houses for the disadvantaged.

The Sangha would also keep taking measures to reinforce the great national unity bloc and make the country more prosperous and developed, said Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu.
