Businesses are important foundations of development
During its development journey, Ha Long City has witnessed many comprehensive changes and strong breakthroughs in appearance, economy, and society.
The city has affirmed its position as a political, administrative, economic, and cultural centre in the province's development space: “one heart, two multi-dimensional routes, two breakthroughs, and three driving regions”, gradually becoming a civilised and friendly tourism and service urban area and a national and international tourism service centre with a modern and synchronous socio-economic infrastructure system.
Identifying businesses as important foundations for development, the city’s authority has always considered the support for businesses as one of the key tasks as well as accompanied and helped businesses overcome difficulties. With the goal of “going together, coming together, achieving efficiency together”, Ha Long City has actively implemented many solutions and regularly organised meetings, dialogues, and exchanges with businesses to thoroughly grasp and promptly resolve problems within its authority.

Bui Tan Dieu, General Director of Central Luxury Halong Hotel, said to stimulate demand after difficult times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the city’s leaders have created favourable conditions for businesses operating in the tourism sector to participate in promotion programmes in the city. The hotel has also launched experiential tours in many countries in the region.
As a locality that has strongly attracted investment resources from society, especially FDI enterprises, Ha Long City has also implemented many accompanying solutions to quickly remove problems related to administrative procedures, ground clearance, and infrastructure. The city has affirmed it as an ideal investment destination to help businesses stabilise production and business, thereby creating confidence for businesses and actively contributing to the local budget.
“In recent years, we have always received enthusiastic attention, support and assistance from Ha Long City’s authority in terms of administrative procedures, site clearance, security and order, labour recruitment, and imports-exports. This is an important factor for us to operate stably, promote production, and continue the implementation of projects in the city as well as in Quang Ninh Province in general”, said Qiu An Liang, Deputy General Director of WEILI Vietnam Textile and Garment Company Ltd.

On October 10, with the aim to express gratitude to the business community and entrepreneurs for their great contributions to the city’s development while honouring outstanding businesses and entrepreneurs, Ha Long City’s leaders held a meeting with 150 businesses, representing over 800 under the City Business Association,.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Ha Long City People's Committee Nguyen Tien Dung affirmed that in recent years, the city's business community and entrepreneurs have made rapid developments in both quantity and quality. The structure, scale, and fields of operation have witnessed changes in accordance with the economic restructuring, so the efficiency and competitiveness have been improved.

In the first nine months of 2023, the total number of businesses in the city increased by 908 businesses. Currently, there are over 5,415 businesses and economic organisations along with more than 11,671 individual business households operating in Ha Long. They have made important contributions to the city’s growth and socio-economic stability, the state budget, creating jobs, generating income for workers, and implementing social security policies.
Thanks to the efforts by the local Party Committees, authorities, people, and business community, the city's socio-economic growth has continued to maintain double-digit growth over the past 6 years.
Total social investment capital in 9 months was estimated at 46,100 billion VND, the growth rate of production value of economic sectors increased by 11.6% over the same period last year. The city’s total accumulated budget revenue in 9 months reached 14,123.3 billion VND, equal to 109.4% over the same period last year. Domestic revenue targets in the city reached 11,366.7 billion VND, equal to 103.2% of the same period last year. Of which, the contribution from businesses and economic organisations to the state budget in 9 months was 1,475.15 billion VND.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Chairman of the Ha Long City People's Committee Nguyen Tien Dung expressed his deep gratitude and respectful thanks to businesses. He also affirmed that Ha Long City will create the most favourable conditions for the business community to develop, further contributing to local socio-economic development.

Nguyen Thanh Canh, Chairman of Ha Long City Business Association and General Director of Thanh Huong Trading Joint Stock Company expressed his happiness as the city’s leaders recognised the efforts and contributions of the business community.
He also affirmed that in addition to efforts and determination by each business, the business community has also received creative and drastic direction from the provincial and city leaders, especially in leadership and direction of assurance of urban order and environmental sanitation throughout the city.
With the aspiration to contribute to developing Ha Long into a modern and civilised city, the Ha Long Business Association also asked the city leaders to assign more projects and tasks so that the entrepreneurs and businesses today can further develop. The entrepreneurs and businesses have pledged to join hands and contribute to developing Ha Long City into a model city.
