Hung Kings' Commemoration Day marked in Thailand’s Udon Thani Province

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Udon Thani Province of Thailand held a solemn ceremony to observe the commemorative anniversary of the Hung Kings on April 6.

The ceremony was attended by Vu Ngoc Tuan, representative of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen; Luong Xuan Hoa, member of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Udon Thani Province, and Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Thailand; and many overseas Vietnamese in Udon Thani and the Northeast region of Thailand.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vu Ngoc Tuan emphasised that every year, on the 10th day of the third lunar month, Vietnamese people, whether in the country or in any country or territory in the world, all turn to the origin of the country, the origin of the nation to commemorate the Hung Kings who built and defended the country.

Vu Ngoc Tuan emphasised that the Hung Kings' death anniversary is an opportunity to educate the tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source” while at the same time being an important occasion to promote to the world an extremely valuable and unique heritage that has existed for thousands of years of compatriots nationwide and overseas Vietnamese.

On behalf of overseas Vietnamese in Udon Thani Province, Luong Xuan Hoa, Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Udon Thani Province and Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Thailand, affirmed that every time the 10th day of the third lunar month comes, overseas Vietnamese in Udon Thani, as well as in Thailand in general, all turn to the origin of the country, the origin of the nation, to remember the Hung Kings who built and defended the country.
