In Pictures: Announcement ceremony for ‘Homeland in Our Hearts’ concert

Nhan Dan (People) newspaper and Ha Noi Municipal People's Committee held a ceremony on August 1 to announce the special concert entitled ‘To Quoc Trong Tim’ (Homeland in Our Hearts).

The concert will take place at My Dinh National Stadium in Ha Noi on August 10 with free admission. The tickets to the concert feature a handwritten copy of Viet Nam’s national anthem – the song Tien Quan Ca (Marching Song) – by composer Van Cao.

The ceremony was attended by Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation, and Chairman of the Viet Nam Journalists Association; Truong Viet Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ha Noi Municipal People’s Committee; and Doan Tuyet Nhung, Deputy General Director of Viet Nam News Agency.

In his speech, Nhan Dan Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Le Quoc Minh affirmed that with the message ‘The homeland is not far away – The homeland is in each person's heart,’ the programme offers a profound emotional journey, connecting the heroic memories of the past with the aspirations of the present and future.

The concert will feature the participation of 68 soldiers from the Army Officer School No. 1, who represented the Viet Nam People's Army at the parade in Red Square (Moscow, Russia) in May.

Around 50,000 spectators are expected to sing the national anthem in unison at the concert.

Musician Van Thao, son of the late musician Van Cao, expressed heartfelt emotion that his father’s composition ‘Tien Quan Ca’ will echo throughout the programme.
