The competition, "Viet Nam on the path of innovation," is being organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists. It aims to record and reflect the country’s comprehensive innovation journey across various aspects of social life: the people, communities, living spaces, and national cultural identity, through the creative and humanistic perspectives of authors.

The competition is open to all professional and amateur photographers across the country. Participants may submit colour or black-and-white photographs, either single images or photo series.

The entries should reflect Viet Nam's comprehensive innovation journey through images of people, communities, and living spaces, such as depicting changes in rural areas, mountainous regions, borderlands, and islands through infrastructure development, production, livelihoods, community tourism, education, healthcare, and new rural construction.

The works should also capture urban transformations, including urban planning, traffic, green and smart cities, and the lives of urban citizens in the digital age. Additionally, the photos should highlight the people of Viet Nam during the innovation period: workers, intellectuals, armed forces, farmers, scientists, teachers, entrepreneurs, and youth with their creativity, adaptability, dedication, and integration.

Speaking at the ceremony, Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation, Chairman of the Viet Nam Journalists Association, said that the competition aims to promote and publicise the image of Viet Nam and its people in the new era, showcasing the country's political, economic, social, and cultural achievements, as well as Viet Nam's position in the international integration process over its 40 years of innovation.

There will be one special prize worth 50 million VND, two A prizes worth 30 million VND each, three B prizes worth 20 million VND each, five C prizes worth 10 million VND each, and ten consolation prizes worth 5 million VND each, along with additional prizes for single photos and photo reportages. The Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists will also present awards and regional exhibition certificates to winning works.

The competition will run from June 28, 2025 to January 31, 2026. Submissions can be uploaded via the official website thianh.nhandan.vn. The organising committee will select about 100 works for the final round, which will be displayed and included in a photo book. The best works will be awarded prizes.

The award ceremony will take place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the first issue of Nhan Dan Newspaper (March 11, 2026).
