Addressing the ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam - India Friendship Association (VIFA) in Ho Chi Minh City Huynh Thanh Lap stressed, that the two countries have developed a time-honoured traditional friendship.
Vietnam and India have always supported each other in their struggles for national independence in the past, as well as in the national cause of construction and development at present.
He hailed that since the two countries established their diplomatic ties in 1972 and then elevated into a comprehensive strategic partnership, Vietnam and India have gained remarkable outcomes in bilateral cooperation, in various fields of politics, diplomacy, economics, defence and security and people-to-people diplomacy.
He took the occasion to express his thanks to the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Indian Business Association in Vietnam, for their close coordination with HUFO in hosting activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the bilateral ties last year, as well as friendship exchange events and programmes in the first half of 2023, which have contributed to consolidating and developing the traditional friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
For his part, Indian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Madan Mohan Sethi appreciated HUFO for hosting the ceremony.
He expressed his delight at the strong development of Vietnam – India relations over the past 50 years.
He pledged that the Indian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City will work harder to promote cooperation between Vietnam’s southern localities and Indian localities, while closely coordinating with HUFO in implementing people-to-people activities, contributing to lifting the bilateral ties to a new height.
