Japanese enterprises surveyed the lychee growing zone in Thanh Ha District for exports to Japan and visited a lychee processing facility of Ameii Vietnam in Thanh Xa Commune.
The delegation then held a working session with Hai Duong leaders, during which Vice Chairman Tran Van Quan expressed his desire that Japanese companies would work closely with Vietnamese companies to promote the export of Thanh Ha lychees to Japan.
He also asked Japanese companies to support their Vietnamese partners in processing and storing fresh lychees to ensure their quality for export to Japan.
For their part, the Japanese enterprises highly valued the quality of Thanh Ha lychees and expressed their wish for technologies to be applied to process fresh lychees into juice, alcohol, and cosmetics.
They added that they expect to have more opportunities to work with Hai Duong to produce many premium food and drink products from lychees.
A representative of the Hai Duong Department of Industry and Trade said the agency would step up efforts to promote lychees and expand into making products from lychees, not just exporting fresh lychees.
