Kien Giang sees sharp increase in number of tourists from Taiwan (China)

In the first four months of 2024, the Mekong River Delta Province of Kien Giang welcomed 221,657 tourists from the Republic of Korea (RoK), a year-on-year increase of 165%. Notably, tourists from Taiwan (China) to Kien Giang reached 82,135, up 12 times or equivalent to 1,100% over the same period last year.

According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, in the first quarter of 2024, international visitors to the pearl island of Phu Quoc increased by more than 200% over the same period last year, with the RoK and Taiwan (China) being the markets with the largest numbers of visitors.

The above positive signs were partly the results of close coordination between local authorities and business communities to enhance the position and competitiveness of Phu Quoc tourism.

In addition to taking advantage of the unique strengths of nature and local culture to build new tourism products, Phu Quoc has been focusing on developing professional human resources and investment in infrastructure and facilities to meet tourists’ demands and form many world-class destinations.
