Under the government decree, unleaded petrol must be blended with ethanol to produce E10 petrol nationwide starting June 1.

To ensure an adequate supply of biofuel, the department has instructed petroleum producers to secure sufficient base petrol supplies, accelerate blending operations, and deliver contracted volumes to petroleum wholesalers in full and on schedule.

Petroleum wholesalers and distributors have also been directed to develop plans for blending, producing, and trading biofuel to ensure a stable supply throughout the distribution network.

In addition, businesses are required to direct and coordinate with their distribution networks, franchise operators, and retail fuel agents to ensure that all necessary infrastructure and technical requirements are in place for the distribution of biofuels by June 1.

The department has further requested that petroleum producers, wholesalers, and distributors closely monitor biofuel consumption trends and prepare supply plans in advance to ensure that a steady and uninterrupted supply is maintained under all circumstances.

During implementation, if issues arise that fall outside their authority to resolve, enterprises are required to report them promptly to the department for resolution so as to prevent any disruption to biofuel supplies.
