The event is co-organised by the Vinh Phuc provincial Fund for Vietnamese Children, the Hanoi-based E Hospital, VinaCapital Foundation’s Heartbeat Vietnam programme, and BHFlex Vina Co., Ltd.
Through screening, children with suspected cardiac abnormalities will be further examined and offered free-of-charge ultrasound scanning by cardiologists of E Hospital to identify the exact disease and determine appropriate treatment.
Those prescribed for surgery will be instructed by the Vinh Phuc provincial Fund for Vietnamese Children to complete the relevant procedures, with their surgical expenses to be covered by the Heartbeat Vietnam programme.
Children who have been diagnosed with heart diseases but are beyond the sponsor’s criteria will also receive financial support for operations from the provincial Fund for Vietnamese Children in accordance with current regulations.
In 2019, the Vinh Phuc provincial Fund for Vietnamese Children organised medical checkups for approximately 24,000 children from newborn to primary school age, nearly 300 of whom were diagnosed with suspected congenital heart diseases and cardiac pathologies that required intensive examination for accurate conclusions and timely treatment. Under the programme, more than 30 children with innate heart defects were introduced for examination and supported in operations and treatment, including nearly 20 who received operations at the Hanoi Heat Hospital and E Hospital’s cardiovascular centre.
