Meanwhile, the Nhon Trach 4 Thermal Power Plant is scheduled for its first ignition in April 2025 and commercial operation in October 2025.

The Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plant project is a key national project, invested by PV Power, with a total of 1.4 billion USD and a capacity of 1,624 MW.

The Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plants are Vietnam’s first thermal power projects using LNG.

Once operational, the project will add approximately 9 billion kWh of electricity annually to the national power grid, helping to ensure national energy security and promote the development of gas-fired power in Vietnam following the Power Development Plan 8.

The project will bring revenue of 17-18 trillion VND annually in commercial operation for Dong Nai Province.

Adjacent to the Nhon Trach 3 and 4 Thermal Power Plant projects are the Nhon Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant, which began operations in 2009, and Nhon Trach 2 Thermal Power Plant, which commenced operations in 2011.

The Nhon Trach 1 Thermal Power Plant has a capacity of 462.8 MW, while the Nhon Trach 2 Thermal Power Plant has a capacity of 750 MW.
