The programme was a chance for 52 artisans to meet and share their love and passion for traditional handicrafts, as well as honour them for their contributions to the development of handicraft villages and women’s movements in the city and localities.
At the programme, the organising board presented certificates of merit to honour ten outstanding female artisans.
Speaking at the programme, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi Women's Union Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy said, over the past three years, the Women’s Unions at all levels have cooperated with the Hanoi Association of Handicraft and Craft Villages, and craft village associations in localities have promoted propaganda and the promotion of traditional crafts and products, under the One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme.

She added that the activities of the Women’s Unions at all levels have helped women gain more confidence to make many unique, sophisticated and prestigious products, for both domestic and international markets.
Thuy expressed her hope that the programme will contribute to spreading the quintessence of Hanoi's craft villages, the responsibility of women and the whole community, in the preservation and promotion of the values of traditional crafts and villages.
Earlier, the delegates witnessed the performance of traditional crafts by 17 artisans and skilful craftsmen, from traditional villages around the capital city.
