VITA Secretary General Vu Quoc Tri said the main foreign destinations were Thailand, the Republic of Korea and Taiwan (China), which welcomed 800,000, 420,000 and 350,000 Vietnamese tourists, respectively.
According to VITA Chairman Vu The Binh, Vietnam’s tourism sector in 2023 continued the recovery momentum from 2022.
As of the end of November, Vietnam welcomed 11.2 million foreign visitors, equivalent to 69% of the figure in 2019, before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The total tourism revenue was estimated at 628.3 trillion VND (25.9 billion USD). The top sources of foreign visitors to Vietnam were the Republic of Korea, China, Taiwan (China), the United States and Japan.
