Party, State leader pays tribute to late Party chief Nguyen Van Linh

On January 27, Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong visited the family of late Party General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh in Ho Chi Minh City to mark the occasion of the 89th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lunar New Year holiday.

The Party and State leader offered incense to late Party chief Nguyen Van Linh and talked with Ngo Thi Hue, the wife of Nguyen Van Linh.

Party chief Trong expressed his delight at Ngo Thi Hue’s good health at the age of 102. He also conveyed his best Tet wishes to Hue and her family.

The wife of Nguyen Van Linh also reviewed unforgettable memories during the national revolution. She thanked General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong for his visit and wished him a new year full of good health and happiness.

Nguyen Van Linh, whose real name is Nguyen Van Cuc,was born on July 1, 1915, in Giai Pham commune, My Van district (now Yen My district), Hung Yen province.

With nearly 70 years devoted to revolutionary activities in many localities across the country, Nguyen Van Linh was entrusted with many responsibilities. Comrade Nguyen Van Linh was always devoted to the Party and the people and stood steadfast to all difficulties and challenges to excellently fulfill all tasks and make great contributions to the Party and the national revolution.
