Those reporting a decline in income attributed it to job losses among family members, rising input costs for business and production, reduced household business activity and falling selling prices of household products.

Authorities at all levels continued to ensure social security. Since the start of the year, the central government has provided 10,300 tonnes of rice for those in need.

Data from the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs shows that, as of July 27, the country has supported the construction and repair of over 268,000 houses for revolutionary contributors and poor households under a national programme to eliminate substandard housing.
