The project is a meaningful milestone in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Thailand (1976–2026).
As part of the broader “Thailand Garden Development” project at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Sala Thai brings to life the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) and the New Theory Agriculture model — concepts initiated by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej. Through vivid and practical models, the project enables students to easily understand and apply these principles.
By presenting real-life examples in Viet Nam, Sala Thai helps students gain a clear understanding of how sustainable values can be applied in everyday life.
As a strategic partner, SCG has provided sustained financial support and ensured the project meets the highest standards by using premium, sustainable construction materials. This collaboration exemplifies the “Embrace Collaboration” pillar in SCG’s ESG 4 Plus strategy, which places people at the centre of all development.
Sharing the significance of the project, Praween Wirotpan, General Director of SCG Viet Nam, said: “As we approach the 50th anniversary of Viet Nam–Thailand friendship, the Sala Thai project stands as a testament to SCG’s long-term commitment in Viet Nam. Beyond being merely a learning space, it equips students with practical knowledge to navigate real-world challenges, while contributing to a more resilient and sustainable future.”
The project further underscores SCG’s enduring commitment to supporting Viet Nam’s sustainable development through investment in people, knowledge, and future generations.
