Second repatriation flight from Romania brings nearly 300 Vietnamese home

A Vietnam Airlines flight, coded VN68, took off from the Bucharest’s Henri Coandă International Airport at 19:20 on March 12 (local time) to bring nearly 300 Vietnamese back from Ukraine to Vietnam.

It is expected that the second free evacuation flight from Bucharest will land at Noi Bai International Airport at about 11 am (Hanoi time).

The second evacuation flight from Bucharest, Romania, carried 291 people, including 15 children under 2 years old, 60 children aged 2-12, and 216 adults.

For the remaining Vietnamese people, the Vietnamese Embassy in Romania also has a plan to coordinate with domestic agencies to continue to organise another flight to bring them home.

Along with the first flight carrying 287 people on March 7, a total of 578 Vietnamese citizens have been safely evacuated from Ukraine to Vietnam from the airport in the capital city of Bucharest.

This is the fourth free flight to bring Vietnamese people home from Ukraine, bringing the total number of repatriated Vietnamese citizens to 1,166.

The Party, State and Government of Vietnam decided to arrange free repatriation flights to bring Vietnamese people home from Ukraine, demonstrating the close attention to the overseas Vietnamese community, an integral part of the Vietnamese community.
