Singing contest launched to mark 50th anniversary of national reunification

The Vietnam Musicians’ Association, in coordination with TikTok Vietnam, have launched an online singing contest to mark the 50th anniversary of Vietnam's National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975-2025).

Speaking at the launch ceremony on October 7, Major General musician Duc Trinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, said that the contest not only aims to find new singing talents but also popularises musical works on the theme of homeland to the young generation, thus contributing to arousing patriotism and national pride among them.

The online singing contest will last from October 14, 2024, to March 15, 2025.

It is open to Vietnamese citizens aged 18 and above with a passion for music. Contestants are requested to perform songs praising the homeland, country, and Vietnamese people in the national construction and defence on the TikTok channel @baicathongnhat.

The livestream round will take place from Monday to Thursday every week, from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The weekly round is broadcast live on TikTok channels @baicathongnhat and @hoinhacsivietnam every Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The monthly round is performed live at the Military University of Culture and Arts and live-streamed on TikTok channels @baicathongnhat and @hoinhacsivietnam at 8:00 p.m. on the first Saturday of the following month.

The final round and gala ceremony are live streamed on TikTok channels @baicathongnhat and @hoinhacsivietnam.

The contestants’ performances are judged by a jury comprising celebrated musicians and veteran music lecturers, namely Duc Trinh, Quang Vinh, Giang Son, Le Minh Son, and Hoai An.
