Hanoi honours 90 valedictorians from universities

The Hanoi Municipal Party Committee, People’s Committee, People’s Council, and the Municipal Youth Union held a ceremony on November 18 to honour 90 valedictorians from universities this year in the capital city.

Of the 90 valedictorians honoured this year, 76 achieved excellent academic results, and 14 achieved good results. Notably, there were 34 young Party members and 21 active members of the Youth Unions and Associations.

By sector, they included 13 valedictorians in engineering; 27 valedictorians of management - culture - society; 20 valedictorians of economic bloc; 14 valedictorians in pedagogy, medicine – pharmacy; and 16 valedictorians in the armed forces. Many of these individuals are authors of scientific research works, topics, initiatives and practical solutions and have won many national and international awards.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee noted that Hanoi has honoured 1,969 valedictorians over the past 19 years. Most of the valedictorians, after being commended, have continued to affirm their qualifications, competence, qualities, ethics and exemplary character in their study and work.

He expressed this belief that the young excellent people will continue to promote the spirit of volunteerism, worthy of the glorious tradition, thus contributing to raising the country's intelligence and strength.
