The ten districts include Dan Phuong, Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Chuong My, Phuc Tho, Me Linh, Soc Son, Thach That, Phu Xuyen, and Ung Hoa.

On the first day of reopening, 200 out of 459 secondary schools in the ten districts reopened to welcome 27,216 students back to school, accounting for 97.47% of total nine graders in the localities.

Students from other grades will still have online lessons while kindergartens remain closed.

Ba Vi Boarding School in Ba Vi district and schools in the remaining districts on the outskirts of Hanoi, including Hoai Duc, My Duc, Quoc Oai, Thanh Tri, Thuong Tin, Thanh Oai, and Son Tay town need to meet all necessary conditions in order to reopen for nine grade students on November 23 and 24.

Previously, the suburban district of Ba Vi was the first in Hanoi to allow its ninth graders to go back to school after a six-month hiatus.

The Hanoi municipal Department of Education and Training has ordered that teachers who haven’t been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will only teach online and students will have one session a day.
