The 82mm x 163mm banknote is predominantly red and is made of high-quality cotton paper.
Designs on the front side include the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh, the emblem of Vietnam, the signature of Governor Nguyen Van Binh and the number 65 representing the 65-year history of the central bank.
The reverse side features the headquarters of the State Bank of Vietnam, the legendary Saint Giong and a stylised old Vietnamese coin.
The banknote also includes motifs from the Ngoc Lu bronze drum, clouds, dragons, and the shadow images of a lotus and the number 65 as security features.
The VND100 banknote will be sold at VND20,000 for an individual piece and VND25,000 for a piece wrapped in an envelope with descriptions in Vietnamese and English.
These numismatic banknotes cannot be used for public circulation.
