Ho Chi Minh City is facing an urgent need to accelerate its growth in pursuit of a double-digit growth target. As traditional growth drivers need to be strengthened, the city still has considerable untapped potential, spanning tourism, investment, digital transformation, and green transformation to addressing stalled projects and developing new sectors.

In an interview with Nhan Dan Newspaper, Dr Nguyen Minh Thao, Head of the Department for Enterprise Development and Business Environment under the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Economics and Finance, Ministry of Finance, said the combined strength of the economy can only be multiplied when institutional reform truly eases the burdens and obstacles facing enterprises.

Vietnamese seafood exports recorded impressive growth, generating nearly 6 billion USD in revenue during the first six months of the year, up 13% compared with the same period last year.

According to the National Statistics Office, Viet Nam’s economy achieved encouraging results in the first six months of 2026, with GDP expanding by 8.18%, the highest growth rate since 2011. In the second quarter alone, the economy grew by 8.39%.
