Thai Temple worships Tran Quoc Tang (1252 – 1313), a hero in the resistance wars against the Mongol invaders who guarded the country’s north-eastern region under the Tran Dynasty (1225 – 1400); and Nguyen Binh Khiem (1491 - 1585), an expert in physiognomy and astrology who was worshipped as Vietnam’s greatest "prophet" because of his series of prophecies on posterity.

Located in Tran Duong Commune, the temple was built under the Mac dynasty (1527–1677). The location of the temple was chosen by Nguyen Binh Khiem.

The temple is home to many treasures objects, including a 105 cm-tall bronze bell dated to the 18th century and a Buddha statue dated to the 19th century.

The Thai Temple Festival is held annually from the 20th to 22nd day of the eighth lunar month to pay tribute to Tran Quoc Tang and Nguyen Binh Khiem’s contributions to the nation.

The three-day festival features worshipping ceremonies, rituals, art performances, and various exciting folk games such as cock fighting, boat racing, wresting, and volleyball.
