According to the plan, the festival will officially open on the evening of November 29 at the centre of Dong Van Commune. During the opening ceremony, the Tuyen Quang Buckwheat Flower Festival brand will be announced, and the province will receive its 2025 tourism awards. The event will be followed by a special art performance themed “The land where stones bloom.”
To prepare for the festival, Tuyen Quang authorities have instructed communes within the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark to plant buckwheat flowers at tourist sites, rest stops, and along major roads leading to commune centres.
Within the framework of the festival, from November to December, various tourist destinations will host experiential activities such as learning traditional rock-based farming techniques, linen weaving, and buckwheat cake making. Visitors can also enjoy folk games like tung con (ball tossing), nem pao (cloth ball throwing), folk singing, and others.
Over the years, the Buckwheat Flower Festival has become a signature cultural and tourism event of Tuyen Quang Province. Every year, during the buckwheat flower season, the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark attracts hundreds of thousands of domestic and international visitors.
