This is the largest LNG terminal project in Vietnam. It includes a terminal with the capacity to handle ships up to 100,000 DWT, a gas pipeline, and other facilities.

The terminal has an investment of 300 million USD and a storage capacity of 1 million tonnes of LNG per year.

The second phase of the project will soon be conducted to increase the storage capacity to 3 million tonnes, according to Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of Petrovietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV GAS).

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang said the operation of the project makes a significant contribution to realising the Government’s guideline on national energy development. The project officially puts Vietnam on the global LNG map and marks an important step in the energy transition towards green and sustainable development, the Government official noted.

The project received investment from PV GAS under the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) and a joint venture of Samsung C&T Corporation and the Petrovietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC).
