The Vung Ang base depot is the largest one in the north-central region with a total capacity of 110,000 cubic metres.
The project has a total investment of VND 260 billion (US$13.7 million) and docking facilities capable of receiving 25,000-tonne ships transporting petrol and oil, as well as a system of storehouses.
The inauguration of the depot will create favourable conditions for developing the Ha Tinh seaport and deploying major projects in the Vung Ang Economic Zone. It will also make supplying oil and gas to Laos and northeastern Thailand more convenient.
